Map Metaphor Activity:-

In this activity we were asked to come up with a metaphor for knowledge. We had to relate the thought process of knowledge to something in real life or something around us. For example, my metaphor was; “Knowledge is a tree.” By that metaphor I meant, The knowledge that we gain from sources such as the environment influences our growth and so the tree grows as time passes. A tree sheds it’s leaves and grows new ones, as we remove knowledge we think is wrong and replace it with something we think is correct. This happens due to external sources influencing us to change the knowledge and our way of thinking. The same way that that trees shed their leaves due to external sources or factors such as weather. This enhanced my thinking skills and the objective was to understand the definition if knowledge in our own way. Over all the activity was very helpful and it made it easier for children to understand the meaning of knowledge using this metaphor.
