 Food for thought

To what extent does past knowledge influence the acquisition/production of new knowledge?

Knowledge is a very powerful tool possessed by mankind. It is present in the past and now, and the future. It is an unavoidable fact that knowledge is something that can help us excel, however it might not always be right. Past knowledge may be different to how we think of things now. The way they gained knowledge to the way we gained knowledge would be very different. For example the many developments in our society, in technology, communication, industrialization. All of these things are very much differently done now when compared to the past. However the past knowledge set a base for everything we have discovered today. With the help of different advancements we have been able to build up past knowledge higher and create new and different ideas out of this past knowledge. I feel like past knowledge has a very big influence on present knowledge, and everything we have derived has been from the basis of knowledge known before.
