To what extent can we distinguish between rational and emotional inputs into decision-making?

Decision making is something that every one does on a daily basis. Decisions are made everyday, whether it be a big or small one. Our brain is an amazing organ. It controls everything we do including the decisions we make. When we make decisions in work we use our rational thinking. However if it was a decision including your personal life then emotional inputs play a big role.

Our emotions can manipulate our thought process. Our emotions are one of the most powerful features of us. It can help us convey strong messages that leave an impact more than just words. So when we make decisions we tend to not look at the whole situation, and look at what favors our decision the most. This creates a bias in our choices.

Generally when people rationaly think they look at the entire situation, or at least the major part. However when it comes to decisions made emotionally, a bias is nearly always there. It might favor the person who is making the decision or someone else, but a bias is always involved.

A bias is what you might call an unfair decision. Showing priority to one side than the other is bias. However bias is not always unfair. There may be certain times when a bias decision may impact all, whether it be in good or bad way. Emotion takes over a person, nearly everything we do is influenced by a small emotion in our body. However the brain is capable of ignoring it, and thinking rationally.

Our decisions we have made, and we keep making, in our life is why we are here today. Everything that was created was originally just thought as an idea or a decision. Then it is put into the works and something great is created. This goes to show that rational and emotional decisions are not bad at all. It just depends on where you apply it and in which situation.
