The culture of my country
Write about the culture of your country
When we talk about the AOK arts, the first thing that comes to mind is paintings, drawings and various different famous artists. However arts are a subjective topic where anything can be deemed as art. Many people don’t think in this aspect however culture is a very major form of art! It can talk about a countries ways, festivals, traditions and what not.
I want to address how art is included in my native place’s culture and traditions. It is located in Nilgiris where there are many towns such as Coonoor, Kotagiri, Love dale, and many more. Ooty, my native place is a very large tourist destination that attracts many people during all times of the year. It generates revenue to help the country’s economic growth. Its most known area of manufacture is tea plantation. It is very much known for its tea production.
Another essential part of Ooty is to protect its bio diversity by having many animal reserves. It houses India’s maximum tiger population, and is protecting them as they were nearing extinction. The way their forests are maintained with pictures, paintings and drawing on the way are amazing sights to see even if you don’t spot any animals. The whole trail is art in itself!
Nilgiris houses one of the oldest steam trains, that is still running today. It runs from Mettupalayam to Ooty and back again. It makes two round trips one in the morning and one in the evening. This is a very famous tourist attraction and it has a very scenic route which I have been on myself. You can see many forms of nature, animals plants and a lot more. As they say nature is a work of art!
Art can be depicted through different things such as movies dance songs etc… Nilgiris is a hotspot for movies because it is known for its scenery. A few famous movies such as Dhuruvangal Pathinaaru and Paradesi. Even some Malayalam movies such as Oppam staring famous acters Mohanlal, Adharva etc... Films are art as well! They way its created and how well it reaches the audience.
In ooty the languages that are spoken commonly are English, tamil, and baduga. Towns are divided into smaller places/villages known as hatti’s. In these villages many festivals take place. Nearly every week is a festival! During these festivals we do something called as baduga dance. It is a traditional dance that has evolved so much over the years. It is generally danced to band music during weddings and other festivals.
It’s a great way to express emotion and have fun during these times. These kinds of art help bring out the underlying colors in people and help them interact and enjoy. Overall Ooty is a very old but very happening place! It has really developed over the years and it has every aspect of art woven into it, helping the place to tell a story about its culture, tradition and daily workings.
